Requirements

Eligibility

  • New Units – Newly established businesses must register within 15 days of becoming eligible.

  • Registration certificate of the company (GST, Shops & Establishment, or Factories Act license).

  • PAN card of the business and bank account details.

  • List of all employees with their salary details.

  • Digital signature of the employer.

  • Address proof of the business premises.

  • Articles of Association (AOA) and Memorandum of Association (MOA) for companies.

  • Identity proofs (Aadhaar, PAN) of directors/partners/proprietors.

Registration Process in India

  1. Check Applicability – Confirm your organization meets ESI registration criteria (number of employees and wage limits).

  2. Create an Account on ESIC Portal – Visit the ESIC official website and sign up as an employer.

  3. Fill Registration Form – Provide company details, employee information, and bank account details.

  4. Upload Documents – Submit PAN, address proof, and list of employees.

  5. Obtain 17-Digit ESI Number – After verification, ESIC issues a unique employer code.

  6. Generate Employee ESI Numbers – Each eligible employee gets an individual insurance number.

  7. Maintain Compliance – File monthly contributions and update employee records regularly.
